Wisdom Keepers Screening Films In 2023, we were awarded a generous grant by the Trusler Foundation, of Emporia, Kansas, to fund a 20 interviw segment we titled "Wisdom Keepers. Through various combinations, we wound up talking with 26 people in all. It has been our tradition, on grant-funded work, to hold public screening events before publishing the stories to this site. This time, because of the large number of interviewees, we pieced together two completely different (with one exception) highlight films. The first was screened on April 14, 2024, at the Volland Store. It features excerpts from Trusler funded interviews conducted in the northern part of the Flint Hills. We took advantage of the opportunity to include snippets from five other interviews conducted in the same area. The second screening event was held at the Pioneer Bluffs Flint Hills Ranching Heritage Center on April 28, 2024. It featured highlights from interviews in the central and southern parts of the region. These highlight reels represent the tip of the iceberg.
