Eula Barrett

Eula was born north of Mattfield Green, Kansas, on the Kirk Ranch, in 1927. Her father, Glen Burton, worked for the Crocker Ranch. Her grandfather, Nate Russell, was a legendary Flint Hills cowboy. Eula and her husband Glendon were married in 1944 and farmed and ran a dairy east of Cottonwood Falls. Eula has lived her entire life in Chase County and is a descendent of the "Sharps", who settled Sharps Creek in 1860.

Mark Feiden and Farrell Hoy met with Eula at her home near Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, on July 5, 2021. She was 94 at the time of the interview.
